If you are curious about your family history, country of your ancestors, when your family came to America, or veterans in your family, then our genealogy classes and seminars are for you! Classes are normally held on the second Monday of the month at our facility from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Cost is $15 for members, or $20 for non-members.​​

Monday, January 8, 2024 – Ancestry.com. This genealogy class is for beginners and those who are more advanced. We’ll look over the features that Ancestry.com has to offer, what’s new, and work through your questions.

Monday, February 12, 2024 – Organize Your Research. The topic of this genealogy glass is “Organize Your Research.” Organizing your research can be daunting and difficult. We’ll talk about archivally safe ways to make research accessible and organized.

Monday, March 11, 2024 – Online Resources for Research. This genealogy class will cover some great online resources that can aid you in your genealogical research. These resources include the National Archives, Library of Congress, FamilySearch.org, and others.

Monday, April 8, 2024 – Get to Know the SCHRC Library. We’ll tour the SCHRC library, give you a peek at the basement archives, and talk about research procedures that may help you whether you’re a beginner or an advanced researcher.

Monday, May 13, 2024 – Photos! This genealogy class will focus on your photos. We will discuss how to scan, archive, and analyze your photos. You’ll discover what your photos can tell you about your family!
