DESCRIPTION:Joe Verdegan, author and true crime enthusiast, is back to talk about his highly anticipated new book, “The Monfils 6 Case – 30 Years Later,” The book details one of the highest-profile murder cases in Brown County history.\nVerdegan’s latest book covers the 1992 James River Paper Mill death of Tom Monfils in Green Bay. Monfils’ body was found at the bottom of a paper mill vat in November 1992. Six men were convicted in Monfils’ death. Each received a life sentence following a six-week trial in the fall of 1995.\nIn “The Monfils 6 Case – 30 Years Later,” Verdegan interviews dozens of key players in the case, including four of the defendants who spent decades behind bars – Mike Piaskowski, Keith Kutska, Michael Johnson and Mike Hirn. Verdegan also talked to a pair of key players on the prosecution side of the case – lead investigator Randy Winkler, and current Brown County District Court judge and the prosecuting District Attorney in this case, John Zakowski.\n
