SUMMARY:The Life of a Great Lakes Surfer: 50 Years of Chasing the Stoke! with Larry Williams
DESCRIPTION:\n \n \n \n \nLarry Williams, along with his twin brother Lee, has been surfing the Great Lakes for more than 50 years. Williams is one of THE pioneer “cold water” surfers. Larry and Lee gained global fame as hosts of the Dairyland Surf Classic, establishing Sheboygan, Wisconsin as an international surfing destination, and coining the phrase “The Malibu of the Midwest.”  Larry will indulge us with stories of his surfing exploits from the greater part of his life.   He’ll also be raffling off a few copies of his book to some lucky attendees!!\nWilliams life is chronicled in William Povletich’s sports biography, Some Like It Cold: Surfing the Malibu of the Midwest, (Wisconsin Historical Society Press, 2016) and they were also featured in Dana Brown’s 2003 documentary film Step Into Liquid.\n \n
